Dania Beach actually offers two distinct ceremony options, each with its own character — and Michelle works both.

The first is Dania Beach itself, just before the state park entrance, with a popular pier nearby. The pier creates a striking backdrop, and the setting is well-suited to intimate ceremonies and elopements — no permit or concessionaire required, which keeps the planning simple.

The second is inside Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (formerly John U. Lloyd Beach State Park), a 300-plus-acre preserve off A1A that holds one of South Florida’s last stretches of undeveloped coastal ecosystem. The park was renamed in 2016 to honor Dr. Von Mizell and Eula Johnson, civil-rights leaders who fought for public beach access for Black residents in the 1950s and ’60s — so couples who marry inside the park say their vows in a place with genuine history and meaning. The Jetty Pavilion is Michelle’s favorite spot here, framed by the park’s lush fauna and stretching toward the water.

Park ceremonies have a $6 per-vehicle entry fee, and weddings inside the park are coordinated through a single on-site concessionaire. Michelle has performed many ceremonies here over the years and can guide you through the current process. For couples who want the most secluded, naturally beautiful setting in Broward, the state park is hard to beat.
