Fort Lauderdale Beach is the simplest of our four beaches to marry on — the City of Fort Lauderdale requires no permit for a wedding ceremony on its public beaches. No application, no permit fee, and far more flexibility on timing and location than a permitted beach allows. For couples who want a beautiful oceanfront ceremony without the paperwork, this is the spot.

The widest, most photogenic stretch sits just north of the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and across from Bahia Mar, with a generous beach, a public restroom, and ample metered parking — comfortable for small or larger groups. The beaches between Sunrise Boulevard and Las Olas are narrower with limited metered parking, but convenient if you’re staying at or hosting a reception at one of the beachfront hotels.

Greater Fort Lauderdale averages 77 degrees and roughly 3,000 hours of sunshine a year; Michelle finds January through April ideal, with November another favorite.
